UWM, a vibrant, diverse and relevant university, connects students to the cultural and economic heart of the state - preparing their minds and resumes for the global economy. The university enrolls and graduates more Wisconsin residents than any other institution of higher learning and is proud to be the most diverse campus in the state. Our expanding research portfolio and strategic partnerships demonstrate our commitment to advancing the economic health of the state.
UWM’s Office of Sustainability is housed within Physical Plant Services. Energy conservation, recycling, green cleaning, landscaping, surplus, water conservation, and other operations are handled through this department. However, sustainability reaches across campus and the community, bridging the gap with Restaurant Operations, the Purchasing Department, University Safety & Assurances, University Information Technology Services, University Housing, and many other committees and staff.

The Office of Sustainability also collaborates with the Center for Sustainability Education, located within the UWM School of Continuing Education. The Center offers courses and certificates in various fields of sustainability.
